Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday, in the course of the Meeting with Pat Moylan, Speaker of the Senate of Irish Parliament discussed the Issues of Cooperations between our Countries on the Parliamentary Level.

 

According to V. Lytvyn, "there is a vast field for the development of the relations between Ukraine and Ireland from the economic to social issues." He emphasized the efficient perspectives of the development of bilateral relations "under the condition: Parliaments of Ukraine and Ireland are supposed to play the leading role in the development of the constructive dialogue."

 

The special attention was paid to the issues of European integration aspirations of our state. "Our principal aim is to intensify the dialogue with EU and we expect your further assistance regarding the indicated purposes of Ukraine", - V. Lytvyn stated. According to his words, Ukraine "feels the support of the Irish Parliament Deputies on the level of Parliamentary Assemble of Council of Europe, European Parliament and other international parliamentary organizations."

 

In his turn, Pat Moylan emphasized the resemblance of the European integration course of Ukraine, thus, according to his words, "Ireland used to make everything possible to receive this aim like Ukraine in the present period."

 

In the course of the meeting the Parties also emphasized the necessity of the implementation of the stable relations between Ukraine and Russia as Europe is extremely interested in this fact.

 

V. Lytvyn in the end of the meeting expressed hope that the dialogue on interparliamentary level would be continued in Kyiv and invited P. Moylan to our state.

 

The Parties also expressed hope that the Embassy of Ireland would soon commence its work.

 

As it was announced, 23-24 March Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will stay with a Working Visit in Ireland.
